It could be anytime between now and next week. Every pregnancy is different and every delivery is different. You can go by your last one. I had a friend who had 3 contractions and then there was the baby. On her second one, she was in labor for more than 36 hours. I wouldn't go anywhere if I were you and be sure that you have your bags ready to go. Good luck and congratulations!

I could copy and paste my answer as this type of question is asked a LOT!
Dialation means nothing. NOT A THING! I still wonder why doctors insist on doing them.
Women can walk around 4-5 cm dialated for weeks or someone can me closed and have the baby with-in three hours.
Odds are that you will have a fast labor because your first was fast but you never know. My mom had nine children and all her labors were extreamly different. From 45 minutes with one to a day or more with another.
My labors were...11 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours.

I will tell you that with my singleton pregnancy, I was dilated 3 cms for several weeks before being induced. You can walk around for weeks at 1 cm. On the other hand, being so far along, it could be any time. Some people go faster than others. When your contractions are 5 minutes apart and steady, that's when it's time to head over to the hospital. If your water breaks, also go to the hospital (or if you don't feel movement of the baby, then get over to the hospital ASAP).
Good luck.

Well, you could dilate for a few days, and if you're only 1 cm dilated it might take a few more days for you to start labor. On my fist pregnancy I was dilated 1cm one full week before I went into labor. So, you might actually make it all the way to your due date. Every woman in different though and so is every pregnancy, so just relax and rest for the big day!

I know women who were dialated to 4cm for weeks before they actually went into labor. Others I know were not dialated at all, but had a baby 2 hours later. It totally depends on the pregnancy and the person. Good luck!

it is SO hard to predict labor by dialation.. you are at 1cm now, you could be at 3 in an hour from now.. it's so hard to tell.
I know waiting is hard, the last couple week go so slowly. Congratulations to you on the pending birth of your child :)

No one really knows.
But to be safe, I'd recommend you have your bag packed and ready to go.
