my dvds wont play because of video volume .have a dirty bit how do i fix this and what is it?

Who said they have a 'dirty bit?" If there is dirt like fingerprints or dust on a DVD you can get a DVD cleaner for not much money that sprays them and wipes them clean. You might also need a cleaning disk that you put into the drive in case that junk got onto the lens of the reader.
The last time I heard the phrase "dirty bit" was from a character on an old Monte Python video - are you sure someone isn't kidding with you?
