Dad is senior, son is junior. After that you go into III, IV (the third, the fourth...)
Occasionally you will see someone named for an uncle. They use II - the second.
Esquire generally refers to an attorney these days.

Usually its senior and junior only if one child is named after the father. If it goes farther, its usually I II III IV V VI and so on

In this country, only laywers have Esquire after their names. The father is SR. , the son is JR and the grandson is III, his child is IV, etc. Personally, I don't know why kids get saddled with their parent's name. Everyone should have his/her own name.

Example:
Father is John Doe.
When he has a son who he names after him, the father becomes John Doe Sr and the son is John Doe Jr.
When Doe Jr has a son that he names after him, that son is John Doe III.
Should Doe III have a son named after him, that son is John Doe IV.
Get it?
