Today or in history? Kobe is a great player, but very selfish. I prefer LeBron James. Lets hope he keeps is head cool, and continues being a class act.
My favorite player of all-time is Magic Johnson who is one of the most talented, unselfish, team player. He was such a delight to watch, and was a delight to meet. I am glad that he's doing very well in business today, and really is a class out all around.
I miss the days of Larry Bird-Magic rivalry. Up to the early 1990's, players played for glory and winning. Now, it is all about the $$$, and the game has become much more boring.

I would Like To Say Lebron but It's Dwayne wade..... he's a scorer, (Average almost 30 in the finals) he passes (6 assist in finals) and he rebounds (8 rebounds in finals).... He's a team player ( unlike Kobe ) and everyone loves him....... And Oh yea, He has a tittle ( Lebron dosnt) and he KEEPS the most dominate player in the leauge happy ( kobe dosnt) it's not all about statistics, it's about personality and charisma AND ability.... Who's better than wade ?? No One, he's only 6'3 maybe 6'4 and he's all over the place.. he has the heart of a young allen iverson and the moves of a Jordan in his prime... he has the knowledge of the game lake larry bird and he has distinctiveness like magic johnson

a lot of these people are saying their usual kobe and Lebron votes but seriously, are you guys forgetting about teamwork? I think Tim Duncan is the best all around player in the league right now. He has a great post game, good midrange shot, can defend exceptionally well, is a great rebounder and shot blocker. Plus he doesn't go showing off for the TV cameras and he doesn't complain about the refs and he PASSES THE BALL if he doesn't have the shot.

Steve Nash, he might be small, but he is easily the most skilled player in the NBA, he can take over games scoring, passing, and stepping up on defense. He has the ability to get the ball to any open player on the court no matter where he is. Steve Nash is a 2 time MVP of the league and is most likely one of the hardest players to guard in the NBA.

Gotta say Michael Jordan. All time best all round player. Making First Team and Defensive Team the same time he won the scoring title of the season.
Kobe is lacking in the defense and assist department, even Jason Kidd has more triple doubles.
