It depends which country you live in, in UK l've seen them for 10 pounds up to 18 pounds.

the commercially sold cages at Petsmart or Petco are usually too small for a full grown pig to be happy in unless you buy one they usually advertise for more than one pig. If you want to spend less money in the long run (by not upgrading when the piggie gets bigger), buy one of the larger one level cages.. Guineas do not use wheels and do not need shelves, so any cage with those in them are pretty much a useless feature. Your best bet is a large flat one level cage for a pig. They like having a hidey spot, so you can either buy them a plastic igloo at the store, or just give them a cardboard box every week and throw it out with cage cleaning.
I personally recommend going to Martin's Cages and getting one from them.
For the price you would spend at Petco, you can a bigger, better cage sent to you including the shipping in less than a week.

Here's a hint, put the cage together using the plastic zip wire ties instead of cage clips sent with the cage. It goes up faster and you can take it apart if needed.
Just remember to buy a cage that you will be able to move with ease to either the bathtub (if you live in an apartment) or outside so that you can spray it down once a week and give it a thorough cleaning.
Remember too that you cannot use pine or cedar bedding for small pets because they are made of soft woods with oils in them that irritate the nasal passages. Buy the giant bag of Aspen (about 14 dollars) and it will cost you less in the long run as well.

Don't get a tiny guinea pig cage from a petstore. If you notice on the box, they call them "starter homes". Way too small for a guinea pig to live in.

We got our cage from http://www.cavycages.com, but it ended up costing like $150 with shipping and everything.

Up to $60 at PetSmart, but don't get one from them! (I'm not biased, I work there!) They are too small for your guinea pig to get the exercise he/she needs, as others have mentioned. To make your own cheap, roomy, safe cage, please visit:

But yes, I do recommend one of the cheap "igloo" hidey-homes you can get at PetSmart. The piggies love them! Good luck!

somewhere between $15 - $40. Depends on the size, and the design of the cage.
