Disagree
Voting for whoever the little man is - usually the greenies - helps out immensly. They only need 5% of the votes for the feds to split EQUALLY the amount of gov money for the elections.
Ie; A and B get to split the money equally this coming election, because no one got 5% last election. However, if people vote for the smaller men - and lets' say 3 people get over 5% with the obvious two heavy hitters getting the rest of the percentage... the election after that
*all money* from the gov funding will be split equally between A, B, C, D, E.
Meaning: those three little people will have a huge leg up the next season around - and they won't have to use their private money to run for office. Oh! They also get equal help in receiving private donations, etc... in other words, huge doors open up to them.
- So I disagree, there is a choice, it's a small one and it won't win anything; but this entire attitude of "WelL i won't vote for them because my vote wont' count" is exactly what the Big 2 want you to think. Keep the smaller people smaller, and on one will ever be able to even have a chance to take the spot.

I think they should make a presidential reality show. We should take all the canidates, put them in a house for 3 months (without their advisors) and let them duke it out. Then we can vote to evict one each week. The last one standing is the new president.

I agree....I would run for office but don't have the capital to back myself. I think most people could identify with a middle class american but the chance that one would make the ballot is slim to never.

There is no perfect candidate. You as the voter need to pick and choose what is important (in your view). However, if you do end up with a election where there is no difference in the candidates, I guess you are stuck. However, the candidates will try to differentiate themselves to give you a reason to vote for them.
