I had really started liking that show and gotten to know and understand all of the characters. Why does this seem to happen 2 all of the good black shows, whenever it goes off the air, it just goes off no finale or nothing friends had a big promotion for their finale and Girlfriends was just as good, on top of that it was produced & written by Kelsey Grammer (that dude fromFRASIER) I just don't get it!! It was one of the top rated shows on Monday Nights. Does anyone know why?!

It hasn't been cancelled--quite the opposite. The 7th season premiere is on 10/1/06 at 8:00 PM on the CW, followed by its spinoff show "The Game"--a half hour comedy about the girlfriends and wives of sports stars.

it's not cancelled. the last time i checked it was one of the three black shows still in contract from channel 9. Girlfriends, everybody hates chris and another new show developed by kelsey grammer is going to start. Relax girlfriend, the show is staying on the air.

Girlfriends has not been cancelled. UPN and WB are combining to make a new network, the CW, and Girlfriends is one of the few shows they are keeping, along with Everyone Hates Chris. Most of the others are biting the dust, though.

I didn't like it , it gave a bad image of the black women ( shallow, slots, gold-diggers, untrusty).
