I love my boyfriend. He so sweet, cute, and caring. But he rarely does anything special for me. I would love it if he would just buy me something like a 50 cent ring from a toy machine, flowers, or a stuffed animal. It doesn't have to be expensive, just a gift to say "I was thinking of you." But he doesn't. He often invites me to dinner with his family, (don't get me wrong, I do love it) but it's never a "date" with just us two. I'd love it if he did something special yet simple like that. Even a surprise here or there.
We're best friends and we spend a lot of time together. We love each other to death. So I know he's not sick of me.
Does it sound like I need to drop him hints that I would love it if he did something like that? Or is he just not showing any interest in our relationship? What do you think?
He does have a job, expenses aren't a problem. He once spent about $65 on Manga books and about $150 when we went to the mall.....he bought me a $1.15 roll of gum...haha...

Sometimes guys are afraid that the girl won't like the gift. Therefore, if you want him to buy you flowers, buy HIM flowers. See if that helps. Give him what YOU would like to receive.

Been there - done that! & now we are engaged!
In the beginning, everything was perfect. We moved in together after @ 6 months and things were similar. I told him how i felt. How he would spend $50 on a video game and couldnt even get me a little surprise for me to know he was thinking about me. After that, he knew it wasnt the material things he got me, just letting me know he was always thinking about me - leaving me little love notes around, or surprises. Im not a material person, at all. but its nice when you get stuff for no reason.
3 years later were still happy. <3

Some men don't have the "romantic" thing so they don't understand or think about this stuff as being inportant my hubby is the same way! So to hint to him without hurt his feeling is i went a bought him a single rose! He kinda looked at me and it took him a few but he goes shouldn't i be getting stuff like this for you not the other way around i smilled and walked off!! It worked!!

you dont need to drop hints. you need to have a one on one chat. oyur relationship seems to be very stable, and if he intvites you to family dinners then boy he loves you. may be he thought you are fine with whats gong on. dont go hard on him. he seems to be a sweetheart!
why not take things onto your hands first? invite him out for dinner. slip him i was thinking bout you notes that he'd find at most unexpected places.. and the works... i mean nothing wrong in making him feel special is it? mey be he'd return the favour without asking? (if that would make you feel better) but yes the best way to make a relationship better is to have an open talk... give yours views opinions and feelings amd be open towards the same comming from his side
always works for me!

Two things: First, he doesn't know. Second, hints don't work on us. We're wired differently.
Do something especially kind for him first. Take him to a movie and you pay for the tix, whatever. He'll get the message.
Good luck! Sometimes we get a little preoccupied and don't realize that she has emo needs we don't have.

It don't hurt to let your man know you that want special things in life, just a card would be great anything that shows love from him. Also show him that you love him too if you don't already do it depends on if you show him love. It aint all about buying things just him telling you he loves u is great.

First try talking to your bf and let him know how you feel. If he blows you off, cut him loose. If he changes for like a month and then slacks off, have another talk, if he does it again, cut him loose. I'm not trying to sound cold hearted but everyone deserves to feel special, especially from someone who claims to love you. And if you've tried to work it out and nothing changing you owe it to yourself to move on...

It sounds like maybe he just doesn't think! or maybe he's cheap - I can't tell. You may have to try asking him outright. If you drop hints, and he then gets you something, will it count? If you talk about what's bothering you honestly, you may find that he just didn't realize.
Hope it works out.

You need to be honest with him. He needs to know he needs to romance you. Even if with little things. Honesty is #1 in a relationship. You will thank yourself in the long run.
