My country is multi-racial with people of different races and religions. During our respective New Year celebrations, we literally open our houses (hence the term "open house") to welcome friends and even strangers into our homes to join in the celebrations by dining together and learning about each others customs. Our leaders will hold open houses in public halls or even their own homes and invite tourists to join in the festivities.

The Holiday we celebrate in the end of Nov. Thanksgiving when we all eat together (the WHOLE Family) at one table and talk about what we are thankful for. Then there is Passover in the Spring when we eat together and celebrate freedom and plan how to work through the next year for those who are not free yet.
