On 31st July i signed up to Orange through "the fonehouse". I received my first bill yesterday and what they are giving me for a monthly fee isnt what i was told i would get. I have to go see the salesperson tonight to discuss the reason why. If i feel he has mis-sold me the contract what are my rights in cancelling?? How long have i got?

Its my understanding that the law is you have 30 days to cancel.
Look at your contract closley and see. Even the big providers like sprint, T mobile and cingular have to follow this law. If you cancel within
30 days they have to take the phone back and cancel the contract.
You only pay for minutes used.
Tell them you know its a law when you go back. Dont let them snow you.
Good luck :)

Don't know the company, but Sprint will screw you hard, If you go looking for a company, T-Mobile has always been really good to me, for 3 years. Sprint charged me $5.00 a month to send me a paper bill, Then told me they would text it to me for free, They were actually charging me $3.50 a month to do that, because I didn't receive a bill from them other than the text. I didn't know it. They got me like that for 15 months, Then when I found out They wouldn't refund any dispute past 90 days.

I though this when I got my first bill but your first bill is complicated because think they charge you a month in advance or something like that. It all sorts itself out I think on your next bill. I'd still go see the shop tho so they can help resolve this issue.

if you kicked up a fuss about false advertising in the shop they would do anything to help to stop you putting off other customers......i've refunded an item of clothing without a reciept before just to shut the woman up lol

They've broken the sale of goods act which states, in part, that they have the good sold has to be 'as described'. It clearly isn't here, so you shoud be able to cancel it.

If you have been mis-informed or have been led by false advertisement I am sure you would be covered by consumer rights....I don't know exact legal rights but I am sure that you have rights as the consumer...."the customer is always right"

If you have not been given what you were promised they are in "breach of contract" and as a result you can cancel your agreement.
