The 3 points stay on your licence for 4 years but are only active for three however most insurance companies will expect you to declare them for 5 years

I tried to have mine taken off last year but was told to wait another year - that means it is FOUR YEARS. Then you have to fill in a new licence application form to get the points removed and a replacement clean licence.

You can send your licence of after 4 years and have the points removed.
I've just done mine (UK) Contact the DVLA for more info.

with the new laws u can only loose 5 points a year. so every year u get 5 points i think
