Dianette is an oral contraceptive comprised of 2 main ingredients, cyproterone acetate and ethinylestradiol (a synthetic anti-androgen and estrogen).
While effective a contraceptive, Dianette/Diane 35 is also used as a therapeutic treatment for women with severe acne, hirsutism and PCOS.
Hope that helps.

I've been on Dianette before but only for a few months because it didn't suit me at all! I know it's meant to prevent spots but it totally dried my skin out to flakes under my eyes and I put on weight too. I'm off the pill altogether now because I want a bit of a break from it, but I was last on Marvelon and this was much better for me.

Yes i have been on it before, it is a contraceptive but is very strong and not something you should be on for long term unless your doctor tells you otherwise. your Doctor would prescribe it to you for number of reasons: as a contraceptive, for acne, heavy pain full periods. dianette does the trick for all of these.

I used to take it - it is a contraceptive pill, which is especially supposed to reduce acne/pimples/spots (whatever you call them). This is usually the main reason for taking it.
It didn't suit me at all - turned me into a psycho
