it might feel a little weird for some people. But let me tell you that there are girls who get their period at a very early age, some even as early as 8 yrs old while some girls have theirs late. It is normal that your sister started earlier than you.You are just 15, there are cases when girls have their period at 18 or 19. There are factors that contribute to the early or late start of a girl's period. If this still wories you a lot,see a doctor to get a medical opinion.

No it's not weird at all, every women's body is different. Some get it as early as the age of 8 while others get it as late as 16 it all depends on the development of your body. I'm sure you noticed that some girls start to develop breasts earlier than others and a period works the same way. If your mother is built in a similar way to you than ask her what age she was when she first started. Just like you may have different height, bone structure, hair or eye color than your siblings that part of the body is different too. If someone is underweight or not healthy the body won't have a period because the body knows that it's not healthy enough to carry a baby. It's not a matter of being a certain weight but you wanna make sure that your a healthy weight regardless, not overweght and nto underweight. If you are concerned about your health in any way speak to your doctor.

It is not weird at all. Everyone is different some girls do not start till they are 16 years old. How ever if you are really worried about it you should have your mom take you to the doctor. You said you were small though and you may just not be ready for puberty it will come Just be patient.

It's different for every single girl. All I can say is for you to thank your lucky stars you haven't started because the cramps are something else. I've heard of girls starting their first period when they are in HS. No, it's not weird at all that your sister started at 13. There is no required weight to be at in order for you to start your first period. It's all up to Mother Nature. Don't worry, you will be fine. Just think, when your sister is laying down in bed crying with cramps, you will thank God you haven't started yet so go ahead and enjoy your period free days while you can. :)

I had irregular periods until i was 19. My doctor explained it had to do more with body weight than age. It wasn't until I hit 105 pounds that my period started to become normal (and by then I was 23).
Its not weird that she started before you because everyone starts at different ages. If you've talked to you gyn (or family doctor if you don't have one yet) and they aren't worried then you shouldn't be either.

First of all Stop worrying about it..i was 2 years younger then my sister and i had mine 3 years before she got hers. I got mine at 9 years old. it was on my 9th birthday i had a life long birthday present. When ur body is ready then it will happen.. if you do not get it by the time you are 16 then i would start to worry . until then enjoy the time without it because believe me it is a curse.

It is not strange that she started before you. You should enjoy not having your period right now because it's a pain. I think the last age you can have it is 16. Don't worry, you will get it sooner or later. You are a women you have to get it. So stop worrying.

No it's not weird. Some girls don't get their period until they are 16 or 17.
If you are really, really skinny that can delay your period. Same thing if you are in a strenuous sport or just exercise a lot.
If it really bothers you, go to the doctor and talk to him/her about it.
Good luck!

Age isn't the deciding factor on when girls begin menstruation. Your body develops at its own pace. Your sisters body will also develop at its own pace. She may indeed get her first period before you get yours. Perfectly normal.
Most girls get their first period around ages 13-15 but many girls get their period earlier (some as early as 9) and some not until 16 or 17.
