Hi, I'm 16, 17 in 2 months & I'm really shy to go out & apply for a job. I've never had one other then mowing lawns for people. & I need to make more money, does anyone know any good ideas for a good job for really shy teens such as myself? Thanks, it would be a great help!

Start looking at your local supermarkets, fast food places.

I was a shy teenager myself and made many friends working at the local store.

Good luck!

Go to snagajob.com and look in your zip code.

Look for jobs that will not put you in heavy public contact. Stockers, library worker, data entry that kind of thing.

Don't be afraid to tell people that you are very shy when they call you for an interview. I appreciate it when folks are up front with me and I adapt my interview to make them more comfortable.

A word of advice, though... social anxiety can be overcome pretty easily at your age if you will make a gradual effort to get more comfortable with people.

A lot of it is that you just don't have a whole bunch of life experience yet. As you grow in confidence and experience it will get better.

One easy thing you can do is to ALWAYS try to speak first when you meet someone. That puts you in control psychologically, and can make first meetings a lot easier.

so a man thinks in his heart so he is... says the holy bible, and it also says we can do all things through Christ who give us strength! you can be anything you want to be ,just be the best at it, and never cut your self short, working anywhere at first is always good job experance, and can be used as a stepping stone to where you will be working next.
