loved the movie, and cried at the end!... I pay it forward all the time..but I don't need anyone to do anything for me first... I love helping others, and need nothing in return.. but believe that by helping or being kind to others puts them in the frame of mind to do the same thing for someone else...

I have a story where someone else paid it forward onto me.
I was in my small car with my two children and large black lab, on our way to surprise the kid's grandma. The car lost power and I slowed, put on my flashers, rounded a street corner to get off the busy highway. The man behind me saw that I was in distress so he followed me. He tried to help, but his cell phone battery was dead. He told me to walk right to this next house, he knew the guy and this guy would let me use his phone.
My husband was gone on a fishing trip.
Long story short I used this guys phone for many long distance calls...it was Good Friday at 5pm.
I couldn't even get a tow truck!
I finally found a friend an hour and a half away who came and got us all and brought us home.
Three people that one day who did their best to pay it forward to me.
Pay it forward is a great movie, a great theory.
I have done it myself but my story of when it happened to me is much better.
Sometimes you can actually be paying it forward by simply smiling at someone.
Simple random acts of kindness.

I often go out of my way to help people, however I don't use that phrase when they thank me. I think that people do pay it forward in small ways when they are helped, they just may not realize it. If I have a particularly good day, people are complementing me, and everything is just wonderful, I am more apt to help random strangers. So, because people were good to me, I am good to others.

Yesterday a guy had a large fridge in the back of his truck and did not think of a way to tie it down. I had some line in the back of my truck and I gave it to him and helped him tie the fridge down securely. he said "thanks allot man, let me buy you a beer" I told him to just pay it forward. Used those exact words.
