He is much more than four legs and hair. He is personality. love, faithfulness, loyalty, fun, a lifelong [usually his] companion, protector and guards his people and his home with ferocity.
Mine is a Border collie, and they really are the smartest dogs. They are problem solvers [new thing - he loves to play in the sprinkler, but doesn't like to get water in his eyes - so holds the frisbee in his mouth to deflect the water]. He makes my heart sing.
