Is there another, not agressive, spider that might be better suited for a 'begginer'?

Most tarantulas they will sell in stores are not aggressive-
Ask the salesperson for one that is very calm and ask to handle it or to see it handled before you buy, if you're worried. Have the handler teach you how to feed it, and to recognize signs of illness and stress.

My best handling advice- if you're reaching for your spider and it rears up with front legs in the air, stop. Wait for it to set all legs on the ground again before you reach out again, more slowly this time. When in doubt, slow down.

When I was a kid, I used to have them as pets all the time. Easy to care for. Just a few crickets and a warm tererium. If you can find a common California Tarantula they make great pets. We used to catch them in the hills behind my house. I used to let mine roam around my room all the time. Very temperate.

I rather have had my tarantula for 11 years now She is a Rose Haired Tarantula. She must be my admired puppy ever and the main inexpensive. Mine in elementary terms desires crickets each and every 3 weeks. determine you do no longer bypass away status water as they could drown. Soak a sponge in water and positioned it in a dish. Mine does get moody if she is touched. i can carry her yet she does no longer like it in any respect. adult males stay approximately 4 years and girls stay approximately 20. women have an prolonged life span than adult males. they are fairly fragile as their exoskeletons are very easy. do no longer drop them! do no longer positioned greater desirable than one in a cage. they could get aggressive in direction of one yet another. reliable success <3

To "start off with"? For what? World domination? Unspeakable genetics research? Covert spider operations? Cuisine?

Sorry. Couldn't help myself; I know you mean as a pet. Frankly, I recommend cats.

Geez - I'm shuddering - but to each his own. You'd better check this out with someone in the biz. But if you've made up your mind that that's the pet you want, I can add to your 'exotic pets', I've got a snake living under my house.
