I am having my second baby, and I am wondering if those of you that have had more than one baby did they both (or all) come early, late, on time, or in no pattern. I'm just trying to figure out if there is any kind of pattern...My first came 15 days early, and I'm trying to figure out if there is a good chance my second will come early also.

Firslty, congrastulations on the new baby coming!!! I am also pregnant...5 weeks and a few days. This will be my 9th pregnancy. My first came about 4 days early, the second a few days (forget exactly...), the third I induced 3 days early (long story), miscarried 3 times, the 4th came 4 weeks early, and the last one was lost and she came 15 weeks early. I am high risk for preterm delivery after having the MC's and the 2 premature deliveries. It's probably not any sure thing that you'll have this child early, especially since the prior was just 15 days early. I'd researched and met with several high risk doctors, and generally, the chances are good to have another early delivery IF you have had premature deliveries....4 or more weeks early. Someone else might tell you differently, but this has been what the docs have told me, and what I have learned from hours and hours of research. I'm not much worried about a bit of an early delivery, but sure don't want another 25 weeker!!! YIKES!!! Good luck to you...

My first came at 32 weeks- about a month and a half early and weighed 3lb 5oz. The second was born a week early and weighed barely 7lb. My sister however dleivered a week late both times and both were over eight lbs. So to answer your question: more than likely yes, there is usually a pattern. But you can't rely on this to predict your situation. It's kind of like you find out it that is true for you after you have had your second!

My first was right on her due date and my second was and 38 1/2 weeks. I don't think there is any real pattern to this.

Was there a reason that your first was 2 weeks early? Or you just started labor naturally?

I do have to say that at 38 weeks both times, I was so ready to be done. LOL

Both of my children were exactly 5 days late. But that does not mean your second will follow your first. Many things contribute to when a child is born. How good shape you are in, how much activity you do, etc. You should ask your doctor when you go for a check up. If you have an ultrasound done, they should be able to get it closer. But all in all, babies tend to come when they decide and each one is different.

Well my first was a week late (due date was July 17th .... my second was a month early (due date was June 4th) .... third was miscarriage at 4 months .... fourth was 16 days early (due date was June 28th). So there isnt a pattern per say. Just like when people say with each birth it gets shorter and easier. My first was 16 hrs long .... second was 17 hrs ... and my fourth was 18 hrs long.

I had three kids. All three were late. The first was two weeks late, the second a week late, the third a week late. I think my body did not naturally go into labor because I had to have help all three times. My mother had the same trouble as me. I was a very late baby.
But everyone is different, and every baby and birth is different.

I have three, I seem to stay pregnant longer with each one. My first was 18 days early, the 2nd was 7 days early and the last was one day late.
