When my mother got breast cancer when I was 16 years old and almost died. I had taken her for granted so many times and I realized that the only time I would talk to her was when I wanted something, and if I didn't, I would get upset with her. Then came the cancer, the surgeries, the chemo, the radiation and I watched as she got physically weak, she became mentally unbelievably strong. She was told several times that there was not a good chance of survival because she had such a late stage and it hit me: I was about to lose the most important thing in my life. And then instead of asking for a car from "Santa" or begging to go to the movies, I prayed that my mom would make it through this. And she did.

My mom is my hero and my best friend and I don't take her or my family for granted anymore. Even being in college now, I will pick spending time with her over going out for a night on the town. Her unbelievable strength inspired me. My family is the most important thing in my life and my mom's survival gave me a purpose to make my life worth something and never give up when all odds are against me.

I have had no such life altering event yet, and see that it may be unlikely for me ever to have one.

I live every day of my life as though I am not going to have another. I spend time with my kids doing things they like to do. I make my husband as happy as is humanly possible. When I upset someone, I apologise immediatley.. I see that there are 2 sides to everything.. and never think someone is wrong because they have a different opinion. I tell the people that I love that I love them. I try not to hate. I forgive and I love implicitly.

If someone is living their lives the best that they can, has no hate, and loves and fogives.. they should never have a moment when they feel that there is something that they should have been doing that they haven't been.. they should never have that life altering event that tells them something about life.

After I was attacked by a guy with a baseball bat. He caved my face in. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. I was scared to death and yet happy I was alive and did not lose my eyesight somehow.

It was a while until I came around and stopped feeling sorry for myself. Spent a good time in therapy. Now I truly am stronger because of it and I believe it was the best thing to happen to me. It sent me on this introspective journey I could have never thought of. I would not be were I am today if it did not happen.......strange how life works.

I had a foul motor vehicle wreck approximately 4years in the past, and would desire to have died. i became into an exceedingly undesirable alcoholic and drug consumer.long tale short,I had to have an entire knee alternative, neglected spending 2 years of time with my son,and that i became into purely 30 years previous whilst all this handed off.

when i found out the stepdad i loved with all my heart was a fake and was sexually abusing my sister. That really opened my eyes and brought me to Jesus feet, where I found peace and love. He was always waiting for me.
