ping it on the command prompt. go to start > run..> type cmd, then on the command prompt type "ping www.yahoo.com" (only an example, just write ping and then the website you wanna get the IP address).

If u wanna find IP of a site then
goto www.samspade.org
Type website name and see IP with other details

You can go to Start -> Run, and type cmd. From there, type in ping site URL.
Example: ping www.yahoo.com
Below is the output you should see (similar)

click on start, click on run.
In there type cmd and hit enter, this will bring up a dos window.
Type ping website. ex: ping www.yahoo.com
the response back will have the IP address

You can use a the following site:

http://www.webreference.com/cgi-bin/nslookup.cgi

Just enter the host name (for example, www.yahoo.com)

Internally, it uses a tool called "nslookup" which is also available as a command line program on many operating systems.

Oe gives the name of said site? ie http://www.XXX .com org or whatever..... pretty simple stuff. takes almost 4 seconds once the name of site is given
there is a simple 1 click id serve program avail from grc
