Most people don't agree with the dems or reps on EVERYTHING!!
Most people are either left leaners or right leaners, most are not staunch anything. We believe that gay people should be allowed to serve our country in the Iraq war we support. We believe that gay people with our expendible incomes should not be heavily taxed.
Despite the fact we dissent on issue such as gay marriage and adoption, we strongly agree with the republican party on economic issues.

We do not associate with them. I was a Republican when I was young. However, the incredible hatred that grips the party got me to leave and become a Democrat. Still, I know Log Cabiners -- they got about a third of the outgay vote in 2004. Then again, it isn't just the hatred of gays that drove me out of the party -- it is the hatred of the poor, the badly hidden racism, the hatred of Arabs (not Muslims really, but Arabs) the anti-Semitism -- all of it. It's not something I could ever believe in. My family were Rockefeller Republicans, those are gone in the leadership, the membership is still catching up.

Reyn

If gay people want to be accepted and respected, shouldn't they also accept those who are gay with other points of view. Not every Republican is homophobic. The Log Cabin Republicans are part of the fabric of what makes our country great.

As we tell straights, LGBTs are diverse and are everywhere. So it's cool that they can get together.
And bless them for trying to work on other Republicans!!!
I'm Libertarian. Some of my positions are considered "conservative", though I don't consider myself as such. I just think everyone has a right to express their view, and I would love a future in which both major parties compete for our votes.

I think it is time to stop thinking in terms of republican and democrat it has become a us versus them mentality in politics instead of a checks and balances in our state as in most states you can not register as a independent so I registered republican and have voted Democrat on the president and for the man on the other candidates

I think of them as little as possible. To be Gay and a Republican is an oxymoron! They are far more into their money than they are into their rights. They fool themselves in thinking they will change the archaic Republican party from within...yea, it could happen.

I try not to think of them. From everything I have seen them do, they are simply greedy self centered individuals willing to settle for the scraps off the table of the Republican party.
