As you did not list the version of McAfee, we can not guess whether it is only the anti-virus version or the only suite with anti-spyware and firewall also

You need to have three major types of programs on your PC
1) Anti-virus (McAfee is that one)
2) Anti-spyware. Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) are the two best and both free
3) A Firewall. Windows XP SP2 includes a low end firewall. May way to upgrade to ZoneAlarm from download.com for free.

Hope that helps

Mcafee is a good stand alone program just like any other program u have to learn to use it ...and tweak it for ur needs...but there are a few more anti-vius bundled that is better than Mcafee...but it all depends on ur preference...hope everything works out for ya...have a good day....cya

don't install norton/symantec anti virus when you have macafee, but do install spyware/adware softwares like adaware, spybot, pestpatrol, and the other softwares that other users have listed.
