Log Cabin Republicans amaze me. How can they accept the big tent theory of the Republican Party? Party platform planks are so clearly against their interests that this does not compute in the same way that fiscally conservative Republicans endorsing the economic and taxation policies of the Bush administration does not compute. Andrew Sullivan, whom I do respect as a thoughtful, articulate and bright man seems to cling to the Republican Party without thought as if in a trance.

On their website http://online.logcabin.org/
The radical right's influence on the GOP can be diminished one voter at a time, by making the case for fairness. That is what motivates the Log Cabin Republicans to lead today's most important battle for the civil rights of gay and lesbian Americans. Even those in the gay community who disagree with our politics should realize our value.
The far right is the tail that wags the dog and they will never accept gays the Log Cabin republicans are fooling themselves.

Why are they Republicans? The Republicans are at a minimum, no more fiscally responsible than the Democrats. I could see them existing in the 1970's but today? The anti-gay issue is one of the driving forces behind the Republicans' success.

I wish them the best of luck and think they are doing a great service to our country. If the Log Cabin Republicans can push the party out of its moralist rut, I might consider voting for the GOP on a frequent basis. I wouldn't mind having a major political party that stays out of my bedroom and my wallet.

i'm no longer precisely militant in my homosexuality and that i'm likely a lot more effective conservative than i'd opt to imagine yet I actually have a difficulty with those who might want to somewhat toe-the-get at the same time-line than help uncomplicated human rights. i think it truly is a case of priorities and that they had somewhat preserve their prestige and sublimate their personal freedoms (inspite of the undeniable fact that i imagine we've considered that once you've adequate power and clout in this us of a, it doesn't truly count number WHAT you're because you may want to purchase off each individual). i'd say operating for replace from interior for his or her personal self interest.

How they can support such a fiscally irresponsible party that has its nose in their private lives for political gain escapes me.I would say a form of loud denial,as is with most conservatives.

Never heard of them. If they do exist I would not be surprised though. To believe that all conservatives are anti gay is like saying all democrats are pro abortion.

I dont really mind that theyre gay. We all have our own lives to live and we have to do what works for us. When youre old and gray you dont want to think about what you missed or what couldve happened because you didnt live your life the way you wanted to.

Not all gays are obsessed with marriage certificates. Many, many (probably the majority) weigh several (if not many) issues before they decide who to vote for.
