This morning! I noticed the light breeze and the beautiful leaves falling to the ground. It gave me hope for an early fall. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I also noticed how wonderful my sons' laughter sounds and how it makes me feel so happy to hear him laugh.

This morning. I now live on the Gulfcoast in Mississippi and even though everything is pretty much a wreck, there are moments when things can seem beautiful. I live right near the beach and this morning I left early enough to see the sun coming up on the water. It was great. The clouds were bright and wispy and the sun was making golden puddles on the water. You should have seen it. And it was such a huge contrast between the beauty of the water and the land that is in shambles because of the piles of rubble everywhere.

Amazingly enough, yesterday. I looked out my dining room window and there was a doe standing in the empty lot (we just moved into a new housing development) next to my house. It was just beautiful to see something so delicate in the middle of a housing development with big cars, loud people, and over-bearing construction equipment. Our small little town has recently boomed and quadrupled in size. Trees and fields are being torn down to accommodate new businesses and schools. But before yesterday, I'm not sure I really remember the last time I really stopped what I was doing and just admired the world we live in.
Our society is too hell-bent on getting to our destinations as soon as possible instead of just enjoying the ride. "Time is money", people say. Nobody, including me most of the time, stops to "smell the roses" anymore

It's been awhile. I'll try to do it today but it's so darn hot here! It's been over 100 degrees all month long. It cools down Saturday! Only 99 degrees!
