At work we need an external CD/DVD burner to be able to archive files off our servers. Can anyone recommend a good one that's not too expensive?

I have never had a Lite-on myself, many people swear by them. This is the best price I saw on one of the brands I would trust.

If BenQ makes an external I would trust it as well. I like Plextor but they are usually pricey.

Most brands nowadays is good enough. I used Sony and LG. Not bad brand. One alternatives for yr consideration. Buy external Harddisk case and a 250GB blank harddis. This case which comes with USB connection can be plugged to any PCs or laptop. This gadget is so flexible for archiving files. When connected to the PC to any of the PC USB slot, a new drive will appear in your window explorer. You just need to copy and paste your file to this "drive".

It is hard to go wrong with anything Plextor or LiteOn makes.

i would go with memorex products. i have one and it's excellent and it wasn't too expensive. well anyway, good luck finding something
