My Hubby and I are TTC,and my last period was 5 days July25th. It is a 28 Day Cycle. I had bad crampy pains only a few days afterwards, and thought maybe it was ovulatiion? Is that possible being only a week after I was on my period? My boobs hurt,I have been gassy, constipated,{Sorry TMI I know...,} bloated, and very hungry all the time lately. {Which normally I usually never eat}.I started getting thse symptoms right away,is that normal? My abdomen has been so heavy feeling, like somethings in their, and I know my body well enough to know it is changing. It couldn't be PMS,I was just a week after ending my period. I bought a Dollar Tree cheap test, just to see,and even though I know it is way to early of course it came out negative. When wilI be able to get results? Blood or pee stick results typically show up how long from when you conceived? Thanks for any info!

Ovulation...on average is 12-16 days after the start of your period....I however didn't ovulate until day 18.

You said your cycle is 28 days so you would ovulate around day 12. Your period was 5 days long....and it's a week after your peroid....5 + 7 =12

So it is possible that you are pregnant. Your symptoms sure sound like you are....but your mind could also be playing tricks on you since you're TTC. I know that when my husband and I were trying to conceive I "felt" pregnant every month...and was over thinking every little thing i was feeling....but that's just me....you could very well be pregnant. I hope you are!

It is not uncommon to get symptoms soon after conception...before you would expect your next period.

Wait until the day you expect your next period....then take a Clearblue Easy pregnancy test with the plus sign....it should give an accurate reading at that point....if you CAN wait until 5 days after your missed period that would be better....and remember, first morning pee is the best to detect pregnancy hormone levels.

I hope you are pregnant! Let me know how it turns out!

ps. If you're not pregnant this month, try the Clearblue Easy "Easy Read" Ovulation Tests....you can get a box of 7 for around $25...that should last you about a month....start testing at day 9 or 10 after the first day of your period. You can also get the Clearblue Easy "Easy Read" Digital Ovulation Tests...but a box of 7 costs around $40....and the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor plus test strips are even more expensive! I used the regular old $25 dollar ones when conceiving my son...and they worked the first month I used them...he's now one year old...and he's BEAUTIFUL!

Good Luck!

It all depends on how sensitive the test is.....I'm willing to bet tests from the dollar store aren't all that great.

Pregnancy tests measure HcG (the pregnancy hormone) in your urine.

Some companies make tests that say they can detect 5 days BEFORE your period, but even the package says it is only 69% accurate and goes up with each day you wait.

Blood tests can pick it up sooner (anything over 5 is positive, most over the counters pick up an HcG of 50-100)

With my son, I was so excited and tested too early and it was negative, to be positive 5 days later. (The HcG doubles every day).

With the child I am carrying now, I was 3 days before my cycle (which run 33 days apart) and got a faint pink line on an early pregnancy test (exactly one week before a scheduled surgery with a fertility doctor...we'd be trying for two years!) A blood test confirmed my pregnancy that was only 13 days past ovulation. The level was so low, my doctor was shocked it picked it up!

By the way, you can ovulate anytime in your cycle....most women with a 28 day cycle do ovulate at day 14, some before some after. I have a 33 day cycle and usually ovulate day 17. My last cycle was 34 days long and I did not ovulate according to the fertility doctor. The following month, I ovulated and conceived on day 16. It all varies.

Good luck!

Normally you don't get symptoms (if you are) until 2 weeks after your period. I wouldn't test again until the day your period should start if it doesn't. I never got any symptoms until after I found out I was pregnant. That was my first tip off that I had no symptoms and I thought something was odd. I always thought everybody gets all the symptoms the moment they know they are pregnant, but that is not true. Every woman is different, so pay attention to your body, try to be patient. It takes some women longer to get pregnant than others. So, if you don't get pregnant right away don't give up! If you are under 35 they won't do anything to 'help' you if you haven't tried for over a year. So just sit back relax and have fun, baby making is a great past time. The more you relax the better your chances of getting pregant. Until it's time to test again, try to do something to take your mind off of it. Go shopping, read a good book, pick up new hobby, anything. Just have fun and don't worry.

Now a days HPT's and blood tests are as accurate, they both now detect very small amounts of hcg which is about 20 units. It is perfectly normal to ovulate a few days after your period, and a wekk after sounds very normal to me so the symptoms you describe are the symptoms I had when I ovulated and when I had implantation, they were both the same, I had a positive pregnancy test 4 days before my missed period which was 8 days after implantation. It might be that you are ovulating or that your egg and his sperm met and you had implantation. So wait and test if you miss your period. Go to the store and get the test that tells you it will give you results 3 days before missed period, I never bought the HPT's in the store because they are expensive so I searched on the net and I found out this website where I bought them and I had a positive result 4 days before my missed period, www.early-pregnancy-tests.com

you can generally start testing for pregnancy about 10 days after ovulation, but this is iffy.. you may get a positive if you are pregnant, but you may also get a negative and be pregnant, those are perils of testing early. if you wait until the day your period is due (waiting is the hardest) and take a test with first morning urine, your results will be pretty reliable.
Best of luck to you

You will get more accurate results 5 days before your missed period (something like 10 days after conception).

Seven days after your first missed period. It is highly unlikely you ovulated a week after your period. Try using a gentle laxative such as pericolace for constipation, and that would relieve gas. Unless you had premarital sex, I don't see how you can be pregnant.
