For one month the Isreali Military went into lebanon and started there "attack's" on Hezbollah. Well in these attacks, more than 1200 innocent lives were taken in lebanon all what were called an accedent by the IDF. If you want to fight a war agenst Hesbollah, feel free among both groups. But all these lives were taken for no reason. I was in lebanon when this happened and all i would here is 10 killed here and 50 killed there. So i would Just like to Know Peoples opinions on the situation. Was it Just or Not.

Yes the two soildiers were kidnapped and IDF has the right to get its soildiers back but 1200 people. Not even 10% of this amount died in Isreal.

I Understand that ALL war is unjust but come on...Yes Hezbollah started this but the reaction IDF gave. And also where was the U.S for 33 day they were "trying to help". If they wanted this thing to be over than they would've stoped it. Our country did nothing to help.

I don't get the bit about feeling free with both groups, but all the same.
War is almost never "just", all the sides use different justifications. If u ask an Israeli you get one story ask a Palestinian you get another, ask a Lebanese you get another, ask the supporters of any of those people and you get something else.
In the end history will call the winner justified

It was just from a Mideast standpoint, which is why we stayed out of it for so long. I mean, really, when does the U.S. ever get involved heavily in religious war? Or really, any war until we are personally influenced...? World War II we basically told the world to fend for themselves...then Pearl Harbor happened and, "Well, I guess we better go fight." We're the most hypocritical nation in the world, but oh well, what can you do? I think Israel was justified in their reasons for attacks; the soldier-kidnappings just created the spark to start it all. As always, civilians casualties are impossible to avoid, even given the forewarning of the war and the Lebanese (those that were killed) choosing to stay. But Hezbollah has such a strong hold on the southern region, civilians and H-members are normally so closely knitted, that Israel went all-or-nothing. I am actually surprised the cease-fire has maintained like it has. Now we just have to see if it starts again, and what, if anything, Iran and Syria do to provoke another battle. Did the 2 soldiers ever get released anyway???

It was just. One is that Hezbollah used these innocent people as shields. Shooting rockets from city streets, hiding in homes, storing weapons in residal areas... and so on. Isreal and any nation has a right to defend itself. Also the Lebanon army and government did NOTHING. By allowing a group to provoc another nation within your borders and not take any action what did you think was going to happen! The blood is on Lebanon official's hands. Yes I morn the loss of life on both sides and wish this didn't happen, but war is not directed at only people it effects an area. Isreal did try to evacuate areas but their goal is to destroy their enemies, not watch out for people who are against them. I morn more that this situation solved nothing. Hezbollah will attack again and Isreal will once again be forced to difend itself in the same manner or possibly to a higher degree of war.

While no innocent daths are truly acceptable, why dont you post actual figures?
1200 lebanese WERE NOT KILLED!
In many cases, the Lebanese governement announced death tolls and then renounced them once independant, well erspected groups, challanged those numbers.
An example is the house that was bombed. The Lebanese Gov't said that 56 people were killed. An independant group challenged that and said that only 29 people were killed. Later that day, the Lebanese Gov't came out and said the actual number of confirmed dead was on 28!!!!!!
In total, less than 950 Lebanese died in the war.
Secondly, when you allow an organization, terrorist or not, to operate out of your country, towns, homes, than I have absolutely no compasion when you get killed!
These people KNEW that Hezbollah was attacking Israel, They KNEW that Hezbollah wantto wipe Israel ofthe map.
AND THEY SUPPORTED THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you stick your head in the lions mouth, you cant complain when the lion bites it off!
Lastly, the low casualty rate in israel was not due to a lack of effort on the parts of Hezbollah and by default the Lebanese.
They just have such crappy rockets that they cant hit the broad side of a barn!

If a paramilitary group was operating in the south of Canada and making incursions with the tacit approval of the Canadian army and therefore the Canadain government how do you suppose the US would react?
Because the Lebanese government was unable or unwilling to intervine, Israel's actions were just.
