Why does Kerry stay out of the media compared to Dale Jr.?

Because JR is the one in Nextel Cup......doing an awesome job. Kerry isn't as famous as Jr is. Personally, I like them both. I think they both have great personalities.

It may not all be by choice. After all, given that Dale is the 'Jr', thus the same namesake as his Dad, that gives him instant recognition. The media is all over him because of that. To top it off, obviously Dale Jr has been more successful on the race track. Kerry hasn't shown the dedication to the sport because he attempts to balance out his racing career with that of a husband and father. I don't think he wants to follow his father's footsteps, thus he has learned to balance his life.

Probably because Dale Jr. is just a better driver. Kerry hasn't been in that many cup races, I think he's happy where he is in the truck series. Kerry has never really been in the spotlight that much.

it's because kerry isn't a driver like dale jr. dale jr gets all the media bc he races in the top league and is a fantastic driver.

jr raced alot more with his dad did than kerry has more skill than kerry and is in a bigger race than kerry tho idd like to see kerry get as good as jr cause 2 earnhardts are always better than one

For starts, he wasn't raised by Dale, so he probably doesn't identify w/ the Earnhardt family as much as the other kids. He also isn't as good a driver as JR.

Kerry realy didn't live his dad like Jr. has he lived with his mother and Stepfather...way out of the way of racing and really didn't start to race until his early 20's..and he is better of staying out of the spot lite

Not as good a driver as Jr. but then again Jr is lucky his sister went into business and did not stay driving next to the old man she was the best driver in the family

if Kelly Earnhardt had of persuaded her racing career she probably would have been the star in the family next to her dad,because she was just like him.the boys in the family could learn something from the sister because she was like dad .and dale SENIOR was successful because of his attitude on the track and kelly was the same!!!!!!! dale jr. and kerry are to nice and have to be more like dad to be better!!!!

because Jr is the star, not Kerry...if Kerry were able to race at the highest level i'm sure he'd be in the media more too..
