I think it is illegal to consume alcohol WHENEVER you are working. I have a friend who owns a bar. He has a license to serve alcohol to the customers. He himself is an alcoholic and often is sipping a drink while he tends his bar. Sometimes he gets wasted. If anything would happen (i.e. someone is drunk after having too much to drink at his establishment and this customer then goes out, gets in his car and wrecks- the owner of the bar where he was served can have his license revoked for serving him), he's up the creek without a paddle.

It would be against your companies policies to consume alcohol. It's not illegal as far as the police department goes, unless you are caught for dui.

It depends where you are - state- county- city. Some places you can consume as long as you are not legally drunk (and of course over age) check your local rules and state laws, most of the time the class you took to license you can call and ask them.

Depends on policies and procedures - do you have an alcohol abuse policy?

For the most part drinking in work hours is not allowed.

Adhere to your policies (which you should have btw!)
