check with the insurer, depends on the medication required and stage of illness. It probably will cost a little higher than a healthy traveller.

It is unfortunately like looking for car insurance as far as price is concerened. for personal needs then you will need to enquire depending on the illness what cover is required. Ask your local branch of Mcmillan nurses for help and for them to point you in the right direction. some have high premium but give you some back if no claim is made, some have low premium but have an "excess" of 1-2 thousand. I cannot remember where it was that my late wife was insured as it was some time ago, but the number was obtained through Breakthrough breast cancer. good luck and hope you have a great time.

If you live in the US or Canada, you need to meet the "Medically Stable" rules when you order your travel insurance. I can't tell you how other countries' travel insurance plans work.

If you meet the "Medically Stable" rules you can get travel insurance plans that will waive the exclusion for pre-existing conditions. These plans are trip cancellation, trip interruption plans and have deadlines to buy them to waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion.
