What the .... "they are lazy and always looking for hand outs?" You are looking at a small segment of the black race. Everyone has their own individual reasons. From learning disabilities to generational habits to drug and physical abuse to government discrimination and oppression to laziness, to lack of knowledge, to WANTING to live in the projects, there are many reasons, but I don't appreciate your generalization. Everyone in my (populous) family works our butts off and are very accomplished. Free your mind, man. "They have been free..." some of "them" were always free, some of them were still slaves to laws against them and there is also a prison of the mind in many areas of our country. For your information, there are more white people on food stamps and welfare (government assistance) than blacks in this country if you do a little research. Opportunity, knowledge and determination can get anyone with a will out of any of the mentioned situations. Sometimes it is a choice, sometimes it is a bad cycle. If you really want to know, try to get some facts and look at the whole race, not a portion.

overlook the belief, right it incredibly is the clever end. food stamps are a state application and state budgets are relatively hurting. i does not anticipate an strengthen. maximum state can't arise with the money for it and that they're going to use the excuse of low inflation to steer away from an strengthen. the only good new for seniors is the federal government has replaced the regulations (being phased in) on the perscription donuts hollow. this can no longer make a huge distinction to maximum seniors. I agree which you deserve greater effectual. I want i ought to think of of a few thing greater effectual to assert.

For starters, there are more white people on welfare than African Americans (check the stats from the Department of Health and Human Services). As for African Americans being more lazy and looking for handouts, not all African Americans are like that (I work with a lot of African Americans that are very honest, decent, and hard-working), but you can thank the liberals for socializing the rest of them that way. They set up a system called the welfare system and quickly realized that it was the perfect scam to get poverty-stricken people to vote them into office every 2, 4, and 6 years. Here's how it works: They give these people barely enough to live on, and if they go out and find a job, whatever they make gets deducted from the amount of welfare they receive. The end result is that they don't get any more money for having a job than they would if they just sat at home and watched TV all day. Why work if you can't get ahead? That's why conservatives want to add job-training programs to the welfare system -- the idea being that if we can train people and give them the skills to get jobs that will enable them to support themselves, they won't need welfare anymore. But every time this comes up, the liberals and their lap-dogs in the mainstream media bash conservatives and say "They want to take away your welfare!" It's a crock. They just don't want people in the projects to become self-sufficient because they don't want to lose their voter base.

First of all, it was only 140 years ago, followed by another 100 years or so of institutionalized racism. Blacks enough greater opportunity in education and employment than ever before, but is the playing field really yet level?
I'm a lily white guy from the suburbs, so I don't feel qualified to say.

First of all I am NOT racist.
Secondly, a huge number of black professional athletes, started out with s***ty childhoods, growing up in the projects, so maybe the african americans currently living in that situation are hoping to birth a phenominal athlete. Which could be categorized as laziness, but couldn't it also be categorized as love for their children. Granted the childhood is bad, but the future does not get any brighter, so long as the child can pull through.

Well it's been known that when black slaves fleed their southern "masters" (I don't like to use to term masters but regarding historical references I have to) they escaped to northern cities such as NYC, Boston, and other densly populated areas so that they wouldn't get caught when their masters or other white men from the south came looking for them.
But exactly why they haven't moved out of the cities is beyond me. Maybe it was just easier for them to stay where they were like Ellis Island and immigrants in the early 1900's from Europe causing a massive swelling of the population of NYC.
But as for your reference to the amount of poverty that goes on in the community with them it could be for a number of reasons, but they're all rather confusing and in the end don't make much sense.

You must be 12, and living in a white community in the 'States. Extreme historical marginalization, stolen culture, denied education, blatant geographical segregation, degredation of the US industrial base, and white people who are only comfortable with you if you're an athlete or an entertainer.
And it's spelled "lazy."

Native Americans are still living on reservations with no running water & no electricity. Can you explain why they are still being treated this way? No one ever talks about the Native Americans & how they are still being treated. And the Native Americans have been here for thousands of years.
I don't think you should stereo type people. Who really knows who's doing what? All we know is what the government & statistics tell us.

Come on now........your trying to stereotype here...and you can go to any town in any state and find just as many white people in the same situation......you actually sound a little prejudice and bigoted. Why don't you take a trip around our country and visit some of these Mid-west little towns....visit some trailer parks and lower income areas and you will see.....its equal across the board. I'm from the Mid-west and I can attest to what its like here.
