I am 47 and going to college for the first time ever,, I never had algebra or chemistry and am scared to death ,, any advice

Just make sure that you take Algebra and Chemistry 101 (the lowest levels) and befriend your instructors. Most of them like to help "non-traditional students" like you.
I know, because I went to college at about the same age as you are and received a lot of support from all sides, including from the other students.

I also went back to collage later in life. The best advice I could give you is to start with a simple math text book and learn make sure you really understand the basics before moving on. If you get stuck on a concept, there is always help available. Do not be afraid or embarrassed to ask. You can do it.

no need to afraid of go to your instructor of engineering he can help you a lot and buy some books then read it, if you cant understand get a hammer and hammer your head.
