In the details I put "Obviously, when the other boys go into strip joints and sex shows, he will stand outside and wait for them, but how much will he need even for the healthy and wholesome stuff?"
Two girls actually replied that they thought my boyfriend might go into the sex shows anyway. No s**t, Sherlock...
Are people really this stupid?

Stop and think... the last 3 generations have been raised with an endless stream of mindless 'comedy'... (read: visual junk) and sitcoms beating them over the head on TV every day... and they don't understand what is funny or have a sense of humor any more.
Subtle humor is beyond some people... they think something has to be destroyed or someone hurt for anything to be 'funny'... It's a very sick society because of this.
What you were doing was even worse because it wasn't really sarcasm but satire and THAT is REALLY too subtle for Americans to grasp.

Sarcasm is one one of those aspects of language that heavily rely on prior knowledge, facial expressions, and gestures. Sarcasm doesn't work well in the written form. So no people are not that stupid. Just stop being sarcastic. Sarcasm is useless, just say what you have to say, and no one will misunderstand you.

With some of the responces and questions on here it is difficult to realise sarcasm and belief. Think about it, you cannot exactly hear tone of voice on here.
