Curious that you need the quickest way, when investments are mainly a long term venture.
There are many sources online, but I suggest you look into the most prominant sites first (yahoo finance, investopedia, etc.), seek out differing viewpoints. Everyone who knows about investing has an agenda - to make money for themselves. You want to know what's in it for them before you buy.
Then make a decision based on your goals for the money invested. Set your goal based on what you want to spend it on and at what point in the future you'll need it.

The quickest way to find out about investments is to go and talk to a broker. Or I would say research what you want to invest in online in great details.

Track a few for practice.
Pretend you buy 1000 shares of 10 Stocks...
Write their amounts daily ...track them...you will learn lots
now get free newsletters easy and be prepared for a 40 hour week of study and compare...
