You can if you both can come to an agreement. You have to check the county courts for all the paperwork needed and file yourself but if you cannot agree you really should get some legal advice. Legalaid might be able to help you too. The county website also will help walk you through all the things you need

The only way you can get a divorce without an attorney is if you both agree on everything.
If you have been married less than 10 yrs and your spouse isn't extremely financially wealthy then you can almost forget alimony.
You can usually go to the court house and they will have the paper work there for you to fill out.
You can get the paperwork from Office Depot or other Office supply stores. It comes on a program you load onto your computer and you fill in the blanks print it out you both go before a notary sign it and take it to the court house for a judge to sign.
The filing fee in Alabama is 114.00
You will have to pay the filing fee at the court house. A notary is usually a couple of dollars. And i believe the program is about 40.00 at the office supply store.

With all the things that you want is better to have a lawyer. It's so worth it and you can make HIM pay for your legal fees.

I will not recommend you asking about alimony and child support without legal advice. You can really get screwed over if he gets a lawyer on his own.

There are some default forms that you can downloas from the interner for a veryu small fee and all you have to do is to file it at your local court house, howver, with your particular situation, the judge is just going to toss this out and make you do it againg as you have NO CLUE as of what are your rights and responsabilities and you cannot go there and ask for everything without knowing what legally you can do.

Good luck

You do not need a lawyer to file for divorce. If you can agree on alimony etc then you just need to sign a contract.

Only if u both agree upon everything, then you can usually download all of the necessary documentation, but more than likely if u are wanting him to pay alimony, then u will have to get a lawyer unless he agrees. GOOD LUCK!

It'll be uncontested if you guys agree on visitation and whatever he has to pay for child support. If he'll fight, it's a much bigger issue and you'll need a lawyer. Otherwise, you can probably both go to the court house and sign whatever documents are necessary to divorce you two.

Walmart or Office Max has divorce forms. Not sure if they include information for custody and alimony. I'd get a lawyer for that so you don't make any mistakes. My sister tried custody on her own and nearly lost her kids. It was horrible.

You may not be able to do a divorce by yourself since there is a child involved. Call your county & get some free legal counsel.

If there were no kids, then yes, you could have done it the way you suggested.

You can but it is not a wise thing to do. A lawyer will make sure you are protected and everything is in the divorce you need!
