I have been having regular symptoms of getting ready for labor, like braxton hicks, tiredness, nesting, I am effaced almost completely, 38 1/2 weeks along. I had been feeling pressure of her pushing down. But it all seemed to stop. The only thing I feel now is her moving with the occasional pressure and sometimes braxton hicks. Am I moving backwards??? What does this mean?

Doesn't mean anything other then it's not time for you to deliver yet. Be patient it will happen soon enough.

I could never go by the nesting because I started doing that at around 5 months with all 3 of my pregnancies.
Also braxton hicks doesn't mean a whole lot other then your body is preparing for labor. I started having really bad braxton hicks at 36 weeks with my last so much so that I went to the hospital and they at first thought the contractions was real I ended up being induced at 39 weeks.

Congratulations

Hello. I have 3 girls and I know exactly what you are talking about. With my second one I was a dialated to a 3 by the time I was 36 weeks at 32 weeks is when I began dialating. I had premature labor with her since I was 12 weeks pregnant. Anyway, once I got to the point where they would let me have her it was like she just changed her mind. It was so upsetting. I ended up having to be induced to have her. I fought for over 5 months to keep her in then when I want her out she just decided it wasn't for her. It does seem like you're moving backwards but really your body is just taking its time to prepare its self. All this really means is that your body just isn't ready yet. If this is your first you will probably go the full 40 weeks. And just an added tid bit. Don't get induced!!! The labor is 3xs more painful trust me!!! My b/f didn't believe me so with her second she got induced. It was funny b/c she had her first without drugs or anything then when her second was scoming along by the time she got to a six she was screaming for drugs. I just wanted to warn you about that b/c alot of dr.s like to induce so it better fits their schedule. Good luck and Congratulations!!!

When you are having consistent contractions 5 minutes apart, that's when it's time to head to the hospital. If your water breaks (or you have decreased fetal movements), I'd run over to the hospital.
