Well they require a different skill set for each. A waitress must be very friendly and outgoing towards people to be successful. A lifeguard doesn't need people skills, but will need to be a strong swimmer. A good waitress most likely will make more money, because the good ones get large tips. Another thing to think about is if you want to work during the day or night. A lifeguard usually is most busy during the day or afternoon, while a waitress is probably most busy during the evening.

Lifeguard would be steady work except during the summer, and steady pay.Unless you have an inside pool job, then it is all year..Being a waitress, your pay is based on customers coming in most of the time,so if you have slow nights, you don't make that much.If it is a popular spot to eat,you can make more. But most places only pay the wait staff like 2 or 3 bucks an hour, then tips.So your tips are what earn you the money.Plus, your on your feet alot and having to deal with jerks.I would go for lifeguard if it is full time.

Well, I think the lifeguard job sounds like it would be fun because you're out in the beautiful weather beside the pool... And being a waitress is not an easy job, but it's more permanent. The lifeguard job is seasonal.

each has its good side and bad side. Being a waitress is less risky, it's easy and gives you a chance to interact with so many people and make new friends, but you could easily get shouted at or offended. Being a lifeguard is not so good either, what if you have an accident? shark attack? jellyfish sting? octupus? baracuda? get a cramp and drown? (God forbid all that), but it can also be fun, having a swim everyday, sitting on the beach. But make sure you can swim with one arm while holding someone with the other.

The better job is the one that you like the best and feel most comfortable doing. You will be the best at anything that you love to do.

hmmmm, do you want to run around like a chicken with its head cut off, or do you just want to sit around all day and get a tan, and possibly be very bored???
