Through helping other people with their questions, I am going through a 're-learning' process that reinforces my understanding of a particular issue. I also discover new perspectives by comparing notes with other Yahoo! users who attempted the same questions. Overall, I feel that what I gained is worth the 10 secs (or more) effort.

Because what makes life worth while is the interactions we make with each other. What use is there in having knowledge if we dont share it with others. I do get a sense of satisfaction in being able to help someone solve a problem or just look at a problem from a different perspective. Even if it is someone I dont know and will probable never meet. I am a computer repair technician. My job is to help others. I see this as an extension of my job I dont dedicate as much time to this as i do to my job but 10 to 20 minutes a day helping people solve their computer problems is not excessive to me. I am also a father of two beautiful daughters so giving advice on children also is a good thing for me. If I can help a new father or mother with a problem i was able to resolve I have just helped a child too.

Could it be?

The same reason you are here asking about why we are here answering your question to us on Yahoo.

It will take you longer than 10 secs to ponder this..

It's better then going to porn sites or talking in a chat room to a pedophile. Most likely. And to answer your question why I answer other people's question on Yahoo is because I can't sleep, I don't feel good all the time and if I can help make someone Else's life better then mine then I have done something worth while.

There are some good questions and some good answers. Then there are the what were you thinking questions. I like to think that my experiences can help someone if I give a good answer. Also, makes the work day go faster.

The whole purpose of my being here IS to waste time. It fills the gaps between eating, drinking, sleeping and work nicely.
