Israel grow to be no longer battling Lebanon. They were battling a 17 november in Lebanon named Hezbollah. Hezbollah terrorists abducted 2 Israeli protection stress squaddies (who've nevertheless no longer been back). that isn't merely justifiable yet needed.

The media showed only the destruction in Lebanon, and only gave the numbers of the Lebanese civilian casualties. It's not like Israel to back off without getting their kidnapped soldiers back. So someone is hiding something.

No one can claim victory. Israel's goal was to completely disarm Hezbollah. They were unable to do that because they gave into world pressure to stop fighting.
Hezbollah's goal is to destroy Israel....clearly didn't happen. And as for the Lebanese people, they suffered many deaths and many homes and businesses were destroyed.
No winners.

Hezbollah picked up what I think is a pyrrhic victory and the French who are now players in the middle east again. The big loser is tony blair who has seen whatever prestige he had in the mid-east and europe completely destroyed by "Yo Blair" and his groveling at the G-8 summit.

Isreal lost b/c of weak leadership that did not fully disarm the Hezbos -- it will just embolden them and ecourage them to do more of the same in the next few years.
The Lebaneese are idiots to let themselves be shields for terrorists -- these people are not freedom fighters, they are screwed in the head. The enemy of peace is the one who cannot and will not live with its neighbors and except everyones fundemental right to live.
