Halle Berry won in 2001 for "Monster's Ball".
No one won from "Monster's Inc." won which was a better film by far than the other 2 put together. IMHO

Aileen W was one of the first female documented serial killers in America, after a near rape and shooting attempt from her customer(she was a prostitute) she snapped and killed him this happened several times.
Her depiction of Aileen was realistic and serious she deserved to win
