I am Republican and they have done nothing to me. You know why. B/c Republicans support an independent economy that does not rely heavily on the government. Thus, a small government. Democrats on the other hand support a larger government where every need is taken care of by the government.

Well let's see, my mom is on disability because she had a work related accident. Broke her back. She can no longer work. After 40+ years of work she was getting disablility and SSI worth $1200 a month. Now under his Social Security plan, she's receiving $550 a month and getting less.
Now here comes my favorite part: Bush's Medicare plan and Drug prescription plan was passed in order to REDUCE (key word, pay attention, math quiz coming up) the out of pocket cost of prescription drugs. And so proud of it was the Prez that he had claimed it would HALVE the costs. My mom was paying $27 a month on average before, now she is paying $150 a month.
Now here's the math quiz: How is $150 half of $27? How did it REDUCE the cost?
And it's not just her. I've talked to other seniors and it's the same story.
What's this crap about republicans being about less government and fiscal responsibility? Every time they get in office, the government gets more intrusive and the debt gets higher. They came into power on the promise of states rights but have fought every state that has exercised their rights. Medical marijuana, euthanasia, gay "marriage". Bush made the promise not to dip into Social Security in order to pay for the war. What was the first thing he did? Dipped into Social Security to pay for the war.

They've done everything within their power to end the checks and balances of powers established in our constitution and empower the executive branch to be stronger than any other part of the government.
They've absolutely ruined our reputation around the world.
They're hellbent on eroding civil liberties, rights for minorities, and programs that could actually help people.
They're destroying the division between church and state
They're causing thousands of people to die (American and non-American) overseas while at the same time refusing to help American citizens at home.
They took an unprecedented surplus and wasted it away to a trillion dollar deficit within 5 years or so
Their campaigns are based almost entirely upon character attacks, and they control rhetoric and language to a disgusting, Orwellian degree.
They insist on dividing the country on stupid culture war issues while not addressing what really matters

Gave tax breaks to the rich but cutting taxes during war. Bush did not veto one spending bill that has fostered an increase in the national debt. Sat on his *** while hurricane hit New Orleans last year. Developed an energy policy that favors oil companies. Has used the issue of gay marriage to distract from the real issues.

Nothing personally. Its just that with all their hypocrisies, I have little regard for them.
They spend years spewing hatred at Democrats during the Clinton years then turn around and cry when they get similar treatment during the Bush years. They accuse democrats of name calling and vindictiveness, when they're just as guilty.
In short, they refuse to take responsiblity for their own part in the breakdown of civility, politically speaking. I don't respect that.

The Senate is expected to pass a resolution Friday that would raise the debt ceiling (the amount of money the government can borrow) by $781 billion to almost $9 trillion. Bear with me boys and girls, but that is a whole lot of cash.
The National Debt increased $2.46 billion per day since September 30, 2005!
Between January 2001 and July 2004, the portion of the U.S. debt privately held by non-U.S. citizens rose from 30% to 42%.
Between September 2003 and September 2004, non-U.S. citizens increased their holdings by $400 billion, from $1.46 trillion to $1.86 trillion — financing the entire $422 billion budget deficit for fiscal year 2004.
Foreign debt holdings have continued to increase in years 2005, 2006
Government debt has increased 25% in less than four years.
In four years, U.S. debt has increased more than two trillion U.S. dollars — $2,000,000,000,000.00
The estimated population of the United States 2006 is 298,000,000 people. Each resident and citizen — man, woman, child and newborn's — share of the national debt: Twenty eight thousand, one hundred and eighty five US dollars.
The government's obligations, current liabilities and unfunded commitments are more than $43 trillion and rising. As the Government Accountability Office suggests, the estimated net worth of all American families is about $47 trillion, and 90 percent of that would be required to cover current obligations. Let's do a little arithmetic. Current national debt = 7.6 Trillion. Cost of Private Savings Accounts = 4.6 Trillion. The cost of the President's budgets for 4 years if he cuts it in half by 2009 = 1.75 Trillion. The sum of these equals $13.95 Trillion dollars national debt. Remember, the President came into office with a national debt of about 5.5 Trillion. And when he leaves office he will still be adding a quarter of a trillion dollars a year to the debt. So, the reality is while the President attempts to convince Americans he is fiscally responsible, he is in fact increasing America's national debt 250% over what it was when he first came to office. And what is America getting back for having its future taxes doubled? The answer is less of almost everything except military. Homeland security block grants will even be cut in the 2006 budget.Even experts in the conservative think tanks agree that growing the economy will not accommodate this kind of massive increase in our national debt. It is just not in the realm of possibility. But, the sophisticated trick of the Bush administration, is to defer the PSA debt until Bush is out of office,Social Security, Medicare, investment in American education and research and development and American ingenuity and creativity are all on track for bankruptcy with the President's fiscal policy carried forward. Simply put, his revenue cuts will benefit the wealthy (in the short term), and his spending cuts will hurt working and poor Americans, and that is the bottom line of the Bush fiscal policy, today and for decades to come with the policies he is putting in place.

They keep sending out bible bangers to bother everyone. I'm gay, and the bible bangers keep saying gays will go to hell.
Actually, I've never met a "bible banger" in my life, but I KNOW they are coming for me! The Democrats tell me so!
Love, Jack.
