people are not born emo, punk, goth, etc. why do people think you're born that way. are serial killers born that way?

I don't think that people are born that way. I think it's their preference.

Perhaps because being a emo, punk, goth, murderer etc is a choice but being attracted to a certain gender is not a choice. Acting on it is. They don't have to be born that way for it not to be a choice either. Maybe bad happened when they were growing up and their environment caused it. Not saying that is always the case, but it might be possible. We don't know what causes it.

You know I'm not really sure..... I think it is very possible to be born with a mentality. I'm not sure if that goes with your outside appearance but as for being so sick that you could kill that very well could be a mental state or a chemical in balance in the brain. This is one of those things that you can't know unless you talk to people like this.

No, it's a conscious choice. And usually people make many such choices in their early years until they settle into something more acceptable.
