Most likely not, because you don't actually lose a part of your ear when it's pierced, the lobe is just kind of pushed around to form a hole.

Actually if you go to a piercing shop, they use a hollow needle to do the piercing so you do lose part of your ear. I think the person is asking if the hole can get smaller.

And the answer is yes. The hole can get smaller if you don't keep earrings in it consistently.

a hollow needle doesnt remove any skin, it cuts a cresent shape in the ear and stretches the hole open. Odds are it will shrink down if the jewelry is removed for much time.

Yes the hole can shrink if you go w/o an earring in it or if you go down to a smaller gauge. Try 14G, & go from there...
