Buffon was badly injured on August 2005 at Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi, friendly match in Milan. Kaka doesn't stop in front of him and collides with his arm. Buffon stand up for some moments, (link1) then knees on the ground, mouth shut (link 2-3). He had a dislocated shoulder and needs surgery.

Buffon injury is serious and he must stop some months. Milan had a gentlemen's agreement with Juventus and offered on free loan their replacement goalkeeper, Abbiati, for the whole season.
Abbiati had many great match and supporter and columnist starts to believe he could become Italy's goalie replacing Buffon.

On 18 Oct in Munchen, Bayern win 2-1. Abbiati had a great mistake on the first goal from Deisler. Supporters and media criticize him. The Daily News is announcing that Queen Elizabeth and the royal family are looking for new court jesters to cheer them up, so they thought that italians would be the best candidates to do the job. They would then have to stop whining and start cheering the formidable French players.
