Hey - I am from Sri Lanka.

Actually, all people not living in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country are living quite peacefully with each other - It is the LTTE that distorts life in these areas by planting occasional bombs in these areas - mainly in the city of Colombo - but all ethnic groups in other areas even in the city of Kandy are living peacefully with each other.

Unfortunately, in some parts of North and East, there are many Muslims and Sinhalese trapped along with the peace loving Tamils who are effected by the LTTE terrorism. There are no burgers in these areas as they are mainly confined to Colombo and Kandy. Looks like the LTTE is not interested in peace, because they are attacking innocent including their own kind - the Tamils. The Sri Lankan government will probably clean off the LTTE pretty soon this time around and make Sri Lanka a peaceful place to live in again. What the Sri Lankan government need at this point of time is the support from the whole world and the Governments of other countries to destroy the LTTE and bring peace. If not the LTTE will become a worse terrorist organization than the Al Quida - remember it is the LTTE who started the suicide culture in the world. They killed the Prime Minister of India and many other International leaders and attempted to kill the Pakistan High commissioner of Sri Lanka recently.

well, you can start by spelling their names right...it's berbers, not burgers...one is slightly less tasty than the other...
personally, i think they should ask for help. have you heard any innocent groups advertising their situation and actively trying to get help, or is it mostly outside groups doing unsolicited advertising for them. maybe someone should tell them that what they're suffering isn't normal...when societies endure harsh situations for long periods of time, they lose touch with the world standards for decent living. take a few out, show them how regular societies treat the destitute, then put them back...they'll initiate change on their own.
