No, it is not true. Bone decease can reduce height, mostly to old people due to calcium deficiency

Weight lifting can prevent you from growing taller. But once you have reached the height you are at you won't get shorter.

Also, normally for the people who are still growing once they stop weightlifting their growth spurt will kick in and they will grow just like everyone else.
