Use a music sequencer software like Cubase, SoundForge, CakeWalk and use the score editor to get your arrangements the way you want them to sound if your ability to play isn't all that. It will allow you to correct any false notes you played. Plus you can do multiple tracks for each distinct instrument you may want to use.

These programs come with a whole lot of features though, so do read up on the manual and along with that learn as you do. It won't hurt either to take lessons to learn to play your favorite instrument (would be a great birthday present imo).

Have fun and see ya on the charts any day soon.

It is a talent which is difficult to teach. I know people who are amazing on the piano, but can't improvise.
Since you have an electric piano, it should have automatic rhythm functions, does it?
For "sounds" an electronic keyboard (synthesizer) can produce anything you want (and it has rhythm funtions).

You should really look into aquiring and learning to play guitar. It's so much fun, it's a good outlet for emotions, and most bands have guitars (not so much pianos - an exception would be Keane). Have fun and do what you like. That's the most important part!
