I'd say no because on the day that JonBenet was murdered a six year old black girl (whose family was poor) was viciously gang raped and murdered in Michigan I believe it was...and that did not make the headlines like this case did. I am ashamed of the media of this country. I am ashamed of the people who would turn their heads when a dear precious child is murdered just because she was poor and because she was black. Don't you think that family has suffered just as much if not more than the Ramseys did?

I feel for all the children of this nation and of this world who come up against sickos...whether that sicko be a stranger or a member of their own family....regardless of skin color or national origin. We really need to rethink our mentality in this country...and then fire the media who will blow one case to the heavens and bury the other simply because of skin color and economic background!

Or, If the Ramsy kid was white and poor !!! The only people that matter to the media are the rich, famous and political!!! It's not a racist issue, its a monetary issue!!!

Totally. Back then 24 hour news was kinda not the mainstream, after the Gulf war, covered 24/7 by CNN, almost everyone started getting cable TV. So it was one of the first major child stories back then.

probably not. Not many people care now, and she was a rich white kid. That is to say, if the media would leave it alone, everyone would have forgotten about her by now.

Only the people who cared about her, the rest of the world wouldn't.
