i remember someone had a habit of sucking the thumb in our family
u just apply fresh aloe vera pulp to her fingers so that when she puts the finger in her mouth she feel a bitter taste.
and aloe vera is good for health too
its nice for skin
or u can apply some bitter gaurd juice to her fingers evry now and then.eventualy she will stop doin it.
it is tested and is effective
this will solve ur problem and there will b no other health risk in using natural things than any drugs

Children have great imaginations...make up a story about a little girl who sucked her thumb so much that it disappeared, then tell how hard it was for the little girl to do anything without that thumb, like holding a pencil, etc...

thub sucking can be a sign of stress and needing comfort to tae that away from a two year old might do more harm than good see if there is some thing hat has her sucking her thumb and work on sorting that out

if she dose it simply coz she can try using no more nails ( not the glue this is some thing diffretn) it tasts foul and your child will soon stop sucking

There is actually a product (sorry I don't have the name) that is sold that is harmless but tastes terrible to put on their thumbs. Or you could try using an onion or a lemon.

She doesn't feel much confidence in herself and this is her way of hiding. It reminds her of a time when all she was required to do was feed from mom's breast. Don't force her to stop, but try to help her build her self-esteem and confidence in herself. Give her something challenging to do that she can accomplish, allow her freedom, reassure her that she is capable, ask her help in doing things, make up stuff for her to do to help out.

Buy the stuff thats makes you stop biting your nails, its like nail polish and put it on when she is sleeping. every time she sucks her thumb it will sting like jalepenoes (sp?) and eventually she wont put her hands in her mouth. You can buy it at any drug store.

I heard that covering the finger in something unbearable like chilli helps. She'll gradually stop.

well some good way to make her stop is putting some papper on her finger so when she put it in her mouth she feel hot and wont ever do it again. but make sure she dont put the finger in her eyes. well it is really useful when i was young where my parents put chilli on my finger and i stop putting my finger in my mouth after 3 days.
