Those are choir voices, determined by their range. From highest to lowest, this is how they go:
soprano - the highest voice, female;
alto - middle voice, female;
tenor - middle voice, male;
bass - the lowest voice, male.

Different ranges of voice. treble is the highest, usually sang by females, down to bass which is usually sang by males
